Pure Land

Pure Land centers on the figure of the Water-Moon Guanyin—seated quietly amid mist and shifting light, her breath slow and enduring. Behind her, streams of Chinese characters flicker, like memory and time appearing and fading within a digital space, where Eastern philosophy meets the pulse of the virtual world. On her body, metal and organic forms coexist, with plants growing across her surface, bridging the forces of nature and the media of the future.

The work juxtaposes the compassion of Guanyin and the Daoist vision of nature with contemporary digital technology, infused with a cross-cultural perspective within the language of new media. It reflects on the connections between humanity, nature, and technology, and the possibilities of care and coexistence in the flow of time.
